So Isabelle was given her first Report Card, and last week we had our first parent-teacher interview with her teacher. We are so happy with everything her teacher had to say about Izzy! She said that Isabelle is learning the letters well, can identify them by the sound they make, and she can resolve basic math problems without help from the teacher. She wrote, "Isabelle is quite interested in learning Spanish. Not only can she name the important words in the classroom, but she asks me how she can say things and always tries to communicate with me in Spanish. Isabelle can understand the basic grammar rules and the common Spanish sentences I use during the day." She is always asking how she say things in Spanish at home too. We are so glad to hear she is doing well in Kindergarten and that she enjoys being there. She loves going to Kindergarten and being with her teacher and friends. That makes us so happy!
Her teacher also said she enjoys music class and participates well in the activities. Isabelle has recently asked me to teach her to play a song on the piano, and so I taught her "Mary had a Little Lamb". Now that is all we hear all day long! I want to put her in piano lessons before I teach her bad habits. Maybe in the New Year.
On another note, we are done moving!!!! There are still a few things left to unpack and organize, but we are pretty much settled and it is starting to feel a little more like home. Especially now that we have heat, and a connected phone line. For the first two days, there was no heat or hot water, and no phone. We are forever grateful for the
Marusiaks for opening up their home to us during that time. We are also really glad to be done renting and own our first place. The camera is still in a box somewhere, so no pictures this time, but I will get some on here soon.
