"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -- to your surprise -- miss them profoundly."

Mary Had a Little Lamb and Ring Around the Rosie

Be sure to pause the playlist music so you can hear Izzy's Piano Playing!

Also, here are a few pictures of our new place. We are more unpacked than these pictures show. It really isn't that spectacular, but we are happy with it, and happy that it is ours!

The backyard. Too bad it has been too cold to play outside lately.

Chloe's room.

Isabelle and Lily's room.
The girls love to watch shows on the "little TV" as shown here.

Izzy's 1st Report Card

So Isabelle was given her first Report Card, and last week we had our first parent-teacher interview with her teacher. We are so happy with everything her teacher had to say about Izzy! She said that Isabelle is learning the letters well, can identify them by the sound they make, and she can resolve basic math problems without help from the teacher. She wrote, "Isabelle is quite interested in learning Spanish. Not only can she name the important words in the classroom, but she asks me how she can say things and always tries to communicate with me in Spanish. Isabelle can understand the basic grammar rules and the common Spanish sentences I use during the day." She is always asking how she say things in Spanish at home too. We are so glad to hear she is doing well in Kindergarten and that she enjoys being there. She loves going to Kindergarten and being with her teacher and friends. That makes us so happy!

Her teacher also said she enjoys music class and participates well in the activities. Isabelle has recently asked me to teach her to play a song on the piano, and so I taught her "Mary had a Little Lamb". Now that is all we hear all day long! I want to put her in piano lessons before I teach her bad habits. Maybe in the New Year.

On another note, we are done moving!!!! There are still a few things left to unpack and organize, but we are pretty much settled and it is starting to feel a little more like home. Especially now that we have heat, and a connected phone line. For the first two days, there was no heat or hot water, and no phone. We are forever grateful for the Marusiaks for opening up their home to us during that time. We are also really glad to be done renting and own our first place. The camera is still in a box somewhere, so no pictures this time, but I will get some on here soon.

Noodles and Flea Shots

Tonight we went to get our annual influenza vaccine. I told the girls, "When Daddy comes home from work, we're going to go get our flu shots. Remember last year, when we got those needles?" They were, of course, quite nervous and scared. Lily kept saying over and over, "I don't like getting noodles!!!" And Isabelle said, " I don't want to get a flea shot!!!" They did pretty well though. A few tears, but nothing a little ice cream didn't fix after.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

So Halloween has come and gone, and we all had a lot of fun as usual. Here are a lot of pictures of all of our excitement.

The finshed product of our pumpkin carving:

Izzy taking a turn drawing the design she wanted for her pumpkin:

Lily drawing ears on the pumpkin:

Gutting the pumkin. EWWWWW!!!!

Lily really didn't like this part.

Chloe was pretty unsure.

BLAHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Here are the girls in their Super Hero costumes, right before our ward Halloween party. The older two really wanted to be superheros, and so I thought, since Chloe doesn't really care, she can be one too. They each picked their own colour. They were very simple to make, and the girls loved them.

Isabelle said her powers were Strength and Speed:

Lily and Chloe "flying". WOW!!!!! (Its actually just Ben holding them up, and then Ben cropped out of the picture.)

Here they are posing. We told Chloe to put her hands on her hips, and she did this. She is sooo cute!

Izzy's Super Hero stance:

Super Lily!!!!!!!!!!!

This is at the Ward's Trunk-or-Treat Activity. Bobbing for donuts was a favorite!

The girls classes at school each had little Halloween Parties. Here is Lily at her playschool:

And Isabelle at Kindergarten. They had made this Giant Orange Pumpkin out of different orange objects:

We took them trick or treating the next day, actual Halloween, just at the mall. It is so much warmer that way. The girls were so excited to get so much candy!
