California Adventure Land was so much fun. I think in a lot of ways everyone thought this park was better than Disneyland because it had all the newer movie rides and shows that are so popular. It didn't seem as crowded either, but I think that is because we went on a Saturday, and they don't allow California residents to go on Saturdays.
Here they all are, ready to go for Day 2 of fun! It was surprisingly a little chilly in the morning, but by about 11:00 am it warmed up to mid 20's. So not too hot at all.
We got to meet Sully from Monsters Inc. Chloe was a little scared of him and didn't want to be in the picture. He was really big!
They had cute shows and performances randomly going on through out the park all day.
Carsland was really fun, and so popular. It was the most crowded place there! At even 8 am the FastPass line up for the Spring Racers was estimated at about 5 hours! We just decided to skip that ride. It looked fun, but not worth that wait!
The whole section looked just like the movie, it was amazing!
I went to get FastPasses for the World of Color while Ben took the girls on this Tow Mater ride. I got back at the same time as they were getting on, so I was able to get some photos of them on the ride!
Heading onto Luigi's Flying Tires:
Lily in front of the Fire Engine
Bugsland was really cute too, and all the kids were able to go on every ride in that section too. They liked the bumper cars:
The balloon ride:
Heimlich's train ride:
King Triton's Carousel was cute too:
Lily's favorite, the Swingin' Symphony:
The Toy Story ride was so fun! It was like you were in a video game and got to play a video game at the same time. The Buzz Lightyear ride in Disneyland was very similar.
You had to wear 3D glasses.
Jumping Jellyfish:
Before we headed into Ariel's Grotto, Chloe and Olivia wanted to dress up in their princess dresses. The older two DID NOT want to at all! Here is Lily dancing with them in the street:
Ariel's Grotto restaurant. It was so nice to sit down and eat in the air conditioned place! It was a perfect place to take little girls to eat. Everyone there had little girls with them, except one family had one boy.
All of the princesses were so nice to the girls! They really interacted with them, asked them questions like what their names were, how old they were, etc. It was really fun for them. They just came to our table while we ate, and so the girls were never bored or waiting.
We got to meet....
Ariel
(we met her in the entrance before we were seated.)
Snow White
(except Chloe did not want to get her picture taken with Snow White or Cinderella for some reason.)
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
And Belle
The food was really good! They brought us two of these appetizer towers that were filled with salad, cheese, meat, fruit, vegetables, and jello.
This bread that was like a crown:
This was my meal the Ciopino, it had lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, and garlic bread. It was very good. Ben got the tri-tip steak and said it was really good too. He talked about it the next day, saying it was that good.
The kids meals were all really good too. Chloe got the chicken and the others all had the mac and cheese with fruit.
This was the dessert platter. We got two platters. I think everyone's favourite was the white chocoloate sea shell, with berries and fruit in it. There were also cookies, cupcakes, and lava cakes.
It was very good! You paid a set fee, and then had a huge range to select from. Olivia's meal was free, but she got the same amount as everyone else. The adult meals were $37 and the kids meals were $22. Pretty pricey, but it was worth the experience and service. Of all the character dining options there, this one seemed to be the best one for our family, and it really was!
We headed on over to the ferris wheel after. We could choose between the swinging seats or the non swinging ones. We thought we'd do the swinging ones, thinking they would just rock a bit. There were no seat belts or bars, so we really didn't think it would be that bad.
Here we are before, thinking this would be a nice, relaxing ride with pretty views.
Boy were we wrong! They rocked so high, I honestly thought we were going to spin right over. It came so unexpectedly too. The girls were all screaming. Chloe yelled out, "Don't sign us up for this ever again!" Olivia on the other hand LOVED it! She was all smiles and giggles and even yelled out, "No Lily this isn't scary this is fun!" Ben was able to get some good shots of her:
The Monsters Inc ride was cute too. Here they are in front of Boo's door:
We went on this Under The Sea ride that was so cute and the girls all really loved it. I was sitting with Olivia and you can hear her squeal and giggle with delight.
We went to the Aladdin show and it was so awesome! Olivia and I got really good seats on the edge of an aisle. At one point a camel came up to her and played with her.
The World of Color show was really good as well. It was a great way to end the day.
Here are some short videos of the amazing World of Color:
