"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -- to your surprise -- miss them profoundly."

Best part of Father's Day by Ben Anderson

The best part of Fathers day is spending it with my girls. Being there as they discover the wonder of this world brings joy beyond measure. John Denver said it better than I can when he penned the lines;
"I’ll share whith you all the happiness I’ve found,
a reflection of the love in your eyes.
I’ll sing you the songs of the rainbow,
I’ll whisper of the joy that is mine."
Spending time with my girls today was a joy and a blessing. I took them on a walk to the Ainsworth Dyer Bridge at Rundle park, and experienced many of the joys of fatherhood that make my life what it is.

Chloe had a blast chasing her sisters.
Lily was just as happy as could be.
Isabelle is a fantastic big sister
Lily and Izzy are lucky enough to be "best friend-sisters"
Chloe was a little afraid of the bridge. She thought she was going to fall through the cracks.
Luckily she's got her big sisters to help give her courage
She finally ventured out on her own...
As long as the edge of the bridge was within reach.
Safe!
Less safe. The smile is a little nervous.
Lily didn't want to give a "real" smile either...
but she had her own reasons.
Isabelle wanted to be a little silly as well.
She is who she is.
Looking over the edge, and not a bit scared.
"Best Friend Sisters do everything together"

Unfortunately that includes falling down.

I’ll walk in the rain by your side,
I’ll cling to the warmth of your hand,
I’ll do anything to help you understand
I’ll love you more than anybody can

And the wind will whisper your name to me,
little birds will sing along in time,
leaves will bow down when you walk by,
and morning bells will chime.

I’ll be there when youre feelin down,
to kiss away the tears that you cry,
I’ll share whith you all the happiness I’ve found,
a reflection of the love in your eyes.

I’ll sing you the songs of the rainbow,
I’ll whisper of the joy that is mine
leaves will bow down when you walk by
and morning bells will chime.

Thanks to John Denver for putting my feelings into words, and thanks to my own Father for teaching me how to feel them. Happy Fathers Day!

Izzy Loses Her First Tooth!

Her tooth was wiggling yesterday, and this morning Ben pulled it right out! She was so excited and is excited for the Tooth Fairy to come tonight. I remember that was her first tooth to grow in when she was a baby, and now it is the first one to fall out! She is growing up so fast!
