"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -- to your surprise -- miss them profoundly."

My 30th Birthday!

I turned 30! We had a fun day out in Banff. It was a nice way to spend the last day of Ben's vacation week. He put this balloon on my nightstand in the middle of the night, and I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up! I do that for the girls when it is their birthday so I now know how they feel!

Here we are at the top of Bow Falls. The hill was really steep actually. It was a hot day.

We crossed this river over a shallow part and the girls had fun throwing rocks in. The current was really fast and strong. It was neat because it was a part where 3 rivers come together.

Here is the Gondola line to the top of Sulphur Mountain

On the Gondola car:

It was exciting looking up as we rode up. The girls loved it:

At the top, you can see the town of Banff:

A friendly passerby took this for us:

We walked across the big bridge that led us to the old radio tower. It was a long, enjoyable walk and really windy up there. It was a little cold too, but that was a nice relief from the heat down below.

Ben got a shot of them climbing back in for the trip down:

These two were having a lot of fun:

In town, after eating supper and on our way to the Hot Springs!

We took this picture before we went in. You can see how crowded it was! We were able to find places to sit though, and it was still really fun. Chloe had this life jacket on, and she would just go to any edge and jump in over and around all the people, splashing them. It was kind of funny how she didn't think it might bother some of the people. Everyone was actually fine with it. It was a great day and a great birthday!
