We went out to Spruce Grove for a viewing of the Live Nativity that they do there. It was nice and reminded me of my childhood years growing up in Calgary and going to the Nativity at Heritage Park every year.
It reminded me of this quote:
"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time." --Laura Ingalls Wilder
Then we came home and opened...
JAMMIES
 |
| We were at WEM one night and just by happenchance came across these at some random store and they were having a really good sale on. The girls LOVED them, and still love them to this day. They are so cozy and warm, and perfect for the cold winter nights we have here. And the cold evenings spent in our freezing basement! |
We also let them open two more gifts for our family--a new game to play together and a movie. The game was Telestrations, and is really fun, and good to play with kids. We had fun with it.
And we can't have Christmas Eve without our traditional homemade cinnamon buns!
Then we watched the movie Guardians of the Galaxy together. The girls then had their traditional sleepover on Christmas eve in the basement!
And here is all their loot, set out ready for the morning! These chairs have turned out to be such a great purchase. The girls call them "Trampoline Chairs" and they just bounce and play on them forever. And when we need them to be out of the way, they all just neatly fold up and slide under their beds, or under the couch in the basement. Perfect! The girls love to watch movies in the basement with them.
This is how we found them in the morning! 5:30 in the morning! Having fun with their chairs and waiting so patiently for us to wake up and come down.
And as usual, I took way too many pictures of everything! I went through them, and these are my favorites....

Olivia tried out her new Lalaloopsy oven a few days later. I was so hesitant to even buy this for her, because I had heard terrible things about the Easy Bake Oven, which I thought was the same thing. But I must say, this was awesome! It bakes really fast and well, because there is no door that opens or closes. Instead, you just slide the cake through. Anyway, Olivia, my little baker, had so much with it and loves it.
Merry Christmas!!!
