"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -- to your surprise -- miss them profoundly."

Izzy's Pool Party!

Izzy had her ninth birthday party this year at The Southland Leisure Center wavepool! It was a fun time had by all. It was so crowded in the pool, as it always is, so it was a little stressful keeping track of all the kids. Having Ben and Janae there to help made it less so. The extra eyes and hands were indeed helpful! They all had fun going on the waterslides, playing with the tube in the waves and soaking in the hot tub.

Here she is with her new bubble sweater that she LOVES! It is her favorite color, BLUE.

On the way to the pool holding the cupcakes. She was excited!

Here are the pool/beach cupcakes I made:

Teddy grahams for the "people", graham cracker crumbs for the sand, gummy lifesavers for the tube, cut up Fruit-by-the-Foot for the towels, blue icing for the water, and toothpick umbrellas for the umbrellas! The girls loved them! I googled, "cakes for a pool party," and these were some that came up. They were easy to make and fun to eat!

Here is the invitation that Izzy gave out. She actually came up with this idea on her own, explained it to me, and helped me make them! She is a bright and creative girl.

Here they were on the day we made the invitations:

After the party, the girls all got to make their own cupcake, since they were out at gymnastics that morning and never got to help me then. I saved stuff for each of them. They had fun and would have liked to help with all of them I'm sure!

Happy birthday Isabelle!!! We love you!
