"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will -- to your surprise -- miss them profoundly."

Christmas Holidays 2013

The girls had a very merry Christmas!  They loved their new cuddly, soft, and warm jammies they opened on Christmas eve.

We also got them some new little pink nerf guns to play with.

Stick 'em up!

We enjoyed our traditional homemade cinnamon buns...yum!

Earlier in the day we went to Millenium Place.  Skating and swimming.

The night before...not a creature was stirring.

And Merry Christmas Morning girls!

They had fun opening their gifts.  I of course, took way too many photos, haha!  Have fun looking through them....

All Lily said she wanted for Christmas was an egg timer!  Haha.  Of course it is not the only thing we got her though.  Anyway, I found this really cute one where it is an actual egg and a chick pops out when the timer goes off.  She has ended up using it a lot too, for teeth brushing, baking, all sorts of things.

The girls were SO happy to get STOMPIES for Christmas!  They have been asking for them for years now haha.

Olivia is actually not quite heavy enough to make the eyes pop open!  Oh well, she will be one day.

All the girls got some footie pjs too. They LOVE those too.

Having fun playing with their new toys and games---

Izzy loving reading the Dear Dumb Diary series she wanted...

They all got a new jewelry box, so now they will have somewhere to put their earrings and bracelets!

Yummy traditional waffle breakfast!

Ben had fun playing with Lily's new helicopter that really flies!

Lily (and all the other girls) all had fun with it too.

Lucky girls with all their loot

Glitter tattoos

Izzy loves to color coordinate her earrings and outfits

Olivia loves keeping this stroller and crib set in her room.  She plays with it a tonne.

Ben working hard to get Chloe's bball hoop set up!

.....While the girls cuddle in and watch Despicable Me 2!

Lily and I working on her new marble race structure.  It still isn't done!  90% of the fun is builing it.

Shootin' hoops!

2 points for Chloe

Everyone has a lot of fun with this

Chloe trying out her new foot spa with Orbeez balls

All showered and cleaned up for Christmas day dinner at Grandmas
Then we went to Calgary to visit with my side of the family.  The girls got these cute matching outfits from Nana!  So cute.  They all love her so much.

We went to the Zoo Lights too.  The Merry Go Round was free that night.

Grandpa Herget with the grandkids

The zoo lights were beautiful as always

Everyone together

We got there right at the perfect time, thanks to the wisdom of my dad who wanted to go early.  First of all, it was not crowded at all when we went early, AND we barely missed the flash freeze that happened just as we were leaving.  I had never even heard of a flash freeze before, but it is where the temp drops super fast and super low.  It did get SO cold, just as we were walking out of the park to our cars! They said it dropped to -30 or colder with the wind chill, but while we were there it was so warm and pleasant, around -2.  You hardly needed a coat.  CRAZY!  It was literally in a matter of 15 min or less!

Both us and Garett and Jodi needed to head home for New Years.  Ben had work to do and forgot his laptop, so he had to go home to get it.  So we had the Hergets over for New Years Eve.  We had a fun evening of food, games, and an early countdown (9:00 pm haha)

Blurry picture!  But I love it.  It just shows how much fun the children all have.  You know they have fun when the place is destroyed, haha!

They had lots of fun playing Braxton's game, SNORTA.  They were laughing and having a blast.  It is a really fun game, even for adults.

Happy New Year!

Ok this pic makes me laugh.  So one of the kids spilled a little gingerale on the couch, and so Garett was cleaning it up.  He saw this picture and said, "So typical!  I'm working away while Jodi lounges."  He was only teasing haha

The next day we went swimming again at Millenium with Ben's side of the family, and then to his parent's again for meatball subs!  Yum!

Happy New Year 2014!   I can hardly believe it is 2014.
